Do Sanghar Housing Society and GDA bye laws allow building multi-story houses on residential plots? The bye laws I read on GDA website (old bye laws dating back to 2006) allow only single story up to 40% construction allowable on residential plots on Koh-e-Batil (Sanghar). Has situation/bye laws changed since and will multi story likely to be allowed?

Dear Adnan,

As per existing rules only Ground plus one is allowed and i do not see that changing. The reason is that Sanghar is built on a small hill and it has a load bearing capacity which can not be exceeded , why even the commercials are limited to only Ground plus 3 .

Thanks for a quick response. Is it possible for your to refer me to a link/website from where I can get the latest rules. gda.gov.pk has old rules only.
Also there are a lot of rumors about potential government/army permanent takeover of Sanghar housing society and cordon off the hammer head for security purposes. How true are these rumours?
