I need an honest comparison between wapdatown,valencia,johar town and the dha side of lahore. I need a detail answer.

They are all well developed areas and mature properties, the only difference is that DHA is much more well maintained and will remain so in future.

The other areas do not offer as much amenties and facilities as DHA Lahore or Bahria Town and although we do not deal in Bahria town i do think if travel time is not an issue Bahria should be your second choice.

As a regular reader of this forum, I would also like to add my thoughts on the subject;

First of all living in DHA is not just upfront cost, there is a cost of living that starts from monthly charges to petrol consumption.

No doubt DHA gives comparitively good quality of roads and streets, however, commercial markets are nowhere closer to all cooperative society.

In DHA you would be driving for a smaller things and sometime hours to get to main city like liberty, mall, gulberg.

You can very fewer affordable institutions like UET, Punjab university or GC, FC. You can not find public sector good schools or hospital. all this will stage miles and miles away from your course of stay in DHA. Unless you afford to pay fortune to private schools, hospital, transport it is life time cost. So its completely personal affordability. I have two plots in DHA, both in loss. ..continue

I still have no house in Lahore as I am waiting for DHA to be liviable to make house. whilst I could have bought a good house in 1.5 cror in any of cooperate society (muslim town,iqbal town, cavalary ground, johar town, wapda town, valencial, cantt and many more, gulshan ravi) near everything (schools from higher to lover end, hospital, clinics from best to cheap, shops from bata to hush pupy, universities from K.E , UET to lahore university and many more)to live from next day.so please give a very careful thought looking at your circumstance..These societies are for those who can pay 50-60 thousand on traveling each months. even than , may next generation of residents find these fully populated and as mature as all societies are in today’s time.

Remember Distances and security does matter a lot….thansk

Dear Abbas thanks for you answer. I really want to live closer to city and may be can’t afford many pertol and other expenses. Would you please suggest socities that are closer to evonomical markets, affordable schools, colleges and other offices. I am really new here in lahore and people are giving their biased decisions.

I will not agree with the comments about being far from the city and expensive, with ring road access its 10 mins drive to the cantonment, signals free corridor to Gulberg only takes 10 mins from Phase 1 and 20 mins from phase 5 . It would take much more time to reach Gulberg from Johar town , wapda town etc.

As for schools DHA runs its own school system which is cheaper than most and for private schools like beaconhouse, LGS etc there fee structure is the same as in any other society all across Lahore.

Being close to Bedian road and green areas you can also get good access to everyday vegetables at decent rates.

The cost of security and maintenance of DHA is very minimal and worth it as you get maintained parks, roads and guards. Additionally you save all the troubles of dealing with LDA and that old registry systems.

I know someone  who got there house taken over by the renters who made fake resgistries, however that is not possible in DHA .

Lastly as for shopping, it has packages mall right next to it, than Goldcrest mall opening up in Phase 4 and people living in DHA do not need to go to liberty market because every shop and restaurant is available in DHA .

I strongly believe that a man is known by his dress and address and do you want your kids to grow up in  Mohalla culture like that in iqbal town and johar town areas or a posh elite set up.

In the end it will all come down to how much you can afford although DHA offers cheaper options but you will have to look for them.

I agree with Capt sb that its signals free corridor to Gulberg only takes 10 mins from Phase 1 and 20 mins from phase 5 if person is looking to buy in phase 1 or phase 5 with 1.5 min for 10 marla. I doubt that. He will end up buying in phase 7 or 9 that another min 20 min from phase 5 or 30 min from phase 1 makes its 40 min from Gulberg.

I also agree with Capt. sb that there are chances of fraud in other societies if buyer is overseas or purchase is just investment but if someone is occupying a house and living in country and buy through all possible cautions, I hope there would not be always hard luck.

I am not opposing DHA in anyway.. and I agree that DHA is better in worst.. but my only point its too much too pay for a plot in phase 7 say for 10 marla 7million being working class and then wait when to make house there and be safe to live, then arrange to send kids to school or find doctor.. yes if one effort to buy and live in phase 1-6, that makes sense..
